Al is a cross-functional technical architect at the Microsoft Technology Centre in London where he helps Microsoft's largest and most complex clients to understand how they can deploy and adopt technology solutions. Combining a wide range of technologies, including Viva, Microsoft 365, Purview, Entra and the Power Platform, Al focuses on applying technology to solve business problems. Al is a former MVP and is involved in organising the M365 Security & Compliance User Group and regularly speaks at conferences.

What to use when - Capability Mapping for Employees

The eternal question that employees want answered is "What do I use when?". With a growing number of tools to choose from to achieve the same outcome, the likelihood of not knowing what to use is very, very high. In this session, I will share some approaches that I have used in multiple client workshops to develop organisational clarity in order to be able to answer this question. Factors that will be discussed include choice of tool, wrapping of tools in familiar interfaces, definition of a capability mapping and how to sharing it with organisation. You will leave this session with an approach that you can use in your own organisation to start building a capability mapping for your employees.
