As Microsoft 365 Copilot agents gain new skills, they also introduce new governance challenges. This full-day workshop turns the Agent Governance Chain into a practical implementation exercise, showing how governance is configured across the Microsoft administration landscape. Using a complex customer support agent that progresses through all seven stages of the chain, participants will examine how instructions, knowledge, identity, tools, external services, actions and automation change the agent’s risk profile. Each stage introduces a new governance question and a corresponding set of controls that must be implemented. The workshop will demonstrate where those controls are configured across Microsoft Copilot Studio, the Microsoft 365 admin centre, the Power Platform admin centre, Microsoft Entra, SharePoint and Microsoft Purview. Participants will follow the agent from its initial configuration through to a business-critical solution that can access organisational data, connect to business systems, perform actions and operate automatically. Throughout the day, participants will learn how to identify the relevant administration areas, assign ownership, apply proportionate controls and establish monitoring for each stage of the Governance Chain. The focus is not simply on reviewing settings, but on understanding why each control is required and how it responds to the capabilities the agent has been given.
This workshop is available as a session without the deep dive deonstrations to identify the different areas that the AI Governance Chain is configured
