Automation ALM for Power Platform / Dynamics 365 CRM

Session Abstract

DevOps and CI/CD is not just "OK we will see after" topic ! This part should be done correctly from the beginning and manage in the lifecycle of your project. Coming from D365 F&O point of view, where CI/CD is just mandatory, it is for me important to present in this session my vision on how to do it as of now as much as possible without manual tasks ! I will present all ALM topics we have right now, and how to implement it - as well as compare it each others. (GitHub, DevOps, ALM Accelerator, Pipelines in managed environment) Finally, in this advanced session, I want to show you my latest solution I have built and available in GitHub to do automation on top of the ALM Accelerator. My goal was to give to the community a solution for Power Platform to improve ALM process in terms of deployment. While the ALM Accelerator for me is the best tool (coupled with an Azure DevOps to manage solution deployment), it was still a manual process to release Dataverse solution. Here's why this session is important and why you should attend it : - Your time should be focused on creating something amazing. A project that solves a problem and helps others - You shouldn't be doing the same tasks over and over 🔁 - You should have a quality/rigorous release package for each new deployment without manual actions 💆‍♂️ - No manual deployment for Dataverse ! - Your source code is on GIT Control - No direct code WITHOUT a solution ! No direct code in Production, no code in the Default environment (yes believe me I have seen those things 😒) - The solution I will present in this Advanced Session will help you to manage the process in which sometimes Microsoft will also release something on your Dataverse at the same time as you. (Retry process) - You want to pre-schedule a release BEFORE and not waking up at 03.00 am to launch it in Prod… My session will be again with ALL point of views, including my ERP background experience as well as CRM together. With also the end of LCS for F&O, and the move to PPAC, how can you check that ALM is done correctly for both world together in the same solution ! (Unified Deployable Package)

Note to event organizers

Based on my latest article / GitHub Solution : https://www.powerazure365.com/blog-1/automation-alm-power-platform I will add also add in the coming months how to deploy ALL in One real Unified ALM and package including Power Platform and CRM components and F&O components, in the right order and all coming from the same Azure DevOps and CI/CD pattern
