Microsoft 365 Copilot agents are the newest kids on the productivity block — smart, helpful, and full of potential. But, just like teenagers with too much freedom, if you don’t set some boundaries, things can get out of hand fast. Before you know it, agents are popping up everywhere, sharing data you didn’t even know existed, and your compliance team is reaching for the panic button. In this session, we’ll look at how to keep these eager new helpers under control without killing their vibe. Microsoft provides a deployment and governance model designed to help you stay in charge while still getting the benefits of automation and AI. We’ll walk through the four key phases of this model: 1. Discover risks and identify gaps 2. Protect sensitive info in grounding data 3. Protect interactions against data loss and insider risks 4. Govern interactions And because theory is nice but reality is better, I’ll share my hands-on experience applying this model in real-world environments — what actually works, where it gets tricky, and a few “don’t try this at home” moments along the way.
