Your SharePoint libraries are full of organizational knowledge, but getting AI to work with that content securely has meant building your own indexes, managing embeddings, and worrying about permissions. The Microsoft 365 Copilot APIs change that. They give developers direct access to the same retrieval, search, and chat capabilities that power Copilot, all through Microsoft Graph, all permission-trimmed, no infrastructure to maintain. In this session, we'll break down what these APIs are, how they work, and what you can realistically build with them from SPFx today. We'll wrap up with practical examples including an SPFx extension that summarizes documents and generates change reports for approvers.
I've been working with SharePoint since the early days—back when master pages, sandbox solutions, and XSLT were the norm. These days, I'm focused on modern Microsoft 365 development with SPFx, Azure Functions, and C#. I'm an architect, consultant, and developer based in Gothenburg, Sweden, helping teams build clean, scalable solutions in Microsoft 365. I work closely with development teams to integrate systems, drive innovation, and shape well-architected, maintainable solutions. Previously a Microsoft MVP and Certified Trainer for several years, I’ve always enjoyed sharing knowledge and supporting the developer community. I take a code-first approach, using TypeScript, React, and Azure to build robust, flexible solutions that grow with the platform.
