This isn't a session on Copilot in Word or having ChatGPT on your phone. It's about the setup that people doing serious work with AI are quietly using. A forward deployed engineer drops into a client, gets up to speed fast, and delivers. To do that well now, you need AI set up around you, not just a chat box you type prompts into. We'll install Claude Code and Codex inside VS Code and get them working on real files. We'll set up Obsidian as a second brain the agents can read from and write to, and build an LLM-maintained wiki that grows as you work, so your notes, decisions and client knowledge stay organised without you doing the filing. Then we'll put jobs on a schedule so useful things happen while you're not at your desk. You leave with a working toolkit on your own laptop, ready for your next client engagement.
I’m a Power BI and Power Platform consultant with a background in turning messy, real-world data into something people actually want to use. I spend most of my time working with Power BI, Dataverse, Power Apps, and Power Automate, helping organisations move from “we have data” to “we trust our data”. I’m particularly interested in report design, semantic models, governance, and making complex concepts feel simple. Outside of client work, I’m heavily involved in the Power Platform community. I run the Norfolk Power Platform User Group, help organise regional events, and regularly speak at user groups and conferences across the UK. My sessions are practical, honest, and based on lessons learned the hard way, with a focus on things you can apply the next day.
