Session Abstract

Traditional VPN solutions were designed for a world where users, applications, and networks lived within clearly defined boundaries. Today, applications span on-premises and cloud environments, users work from anywhere, and trust can no longer be based on network location alone. In this session, we will explore how Global Secure Access helps organizations move from network-centric remote access to a modern Zero Trust model. With a focus on Entra Private Access, we will look at how identity, Conditional Access, and context can be incorporated into access decisions without relying on traditional VPN architectures. Using practical examples we will examine how Private Access works, where it can replace classic VPN technologies, and what role it plays in a broader Zero Trust strategy. Join this session for an honest look at Microsoft's approach to modern secure access.

Gregor is awarded with the Microsoft MVP for Microsoft Azure and Security. He works as Chief Azure Technologist for adesso SE and is lead for Azure . His main areas are Microsoft Azure, Enterprise scale architectures, Cloud Security, Governance, Hybrid and Migration. Gregor is an active member of the global Microsoft community and regularly attends community conferences, runs his own Azure blog (www.reimling.eu) and the Cloud Inspires (www.cloudinspires.me) podcast. He is the founder of the Azure Bonn Meetup with more then 1000 members, a local Azure user group near Cologne and co-founder of the Cloud Identity Summit, an annual conference focusing on identity management and security.
