Don’t Ban It, Build It: Enterprise ChatGPT in Azure (with governance, logging, and data boundaries)

Inside nearly every company, people are already using ChatGPT—whether you allow it or not. Banning it mostly acts as a feature request for “shadow AI.” In this session, we show how to do the opposite: enable it by building an internal “CompanyGPT” in Azure that feels like ChatGPT, but runs on your enterprise controls.
We build an open chat experience based on Azure AI Foundry and immediately add the elements that make the difference between a demo and a platform: Entra ID authentication, RBAC/tenant separation, network and data boundaries, content safety, audit logging, cost controls, and a clear approach to “what data is allowed in/out.” You’ll see how teams can use chat for coding, troubleshooting, documentation, and tickets—without prompts or company data leaking into uncontrolled tools.
You’ll walk away with a concrete blueprint for “managed ChatGPT” in Azure: architecture choices, guardrails, and the minimal set of policies and processes needed to roll this out at scale.
