We have put chat boxes everywhere. Need a report? Chat. Want to update a record? Chat. Need to approve an expense? Apparently, that also requires a meaningful conversation with a robot. But not every business task should be a conversation. What if Copilot could understand what you are trying to accomplish and respond with the right experience instead : a grid, a form, a dashboard, an approval flow or even a temporary workspace created specifically for the task at hand? This session introduces morphic applications: applications that reshape themselves around the user’s intent, context, permissions, data and available capabilities. Instead of asking users to find and learn the right application, the application assembles itself when needed, adapts as the task evolves and disappears when the work is complete. The underlying data, permissions and governance remain firmly in place: even if the interface decides to shape-shift. We will combine Copilot, the Model Context Protocol (MCP), enterprise data and rich interactive UI to build a morphic application live. We will examine how an agent discovers available capabilities, selects the appropriate experience, retrieves context and safely performs governed actions without improvising its way into the production environment. Along the way, we will discuss what should be generated, what must remain deterministic, how permissions follow the user and why “the AI probably knows what it is doing” is not a valid governance strategy. Expect practical architecture, live building, honest limitations and possibly an application that changes shape before the demo gods have time to break it.
