Prompt, Agent or Automation? Choosing the Right Microsoft AI Approach

Microsoft offers more AI tools than ever. A prompt in Copilot, Cowork, Heartbeat in Scout, a custom agent in Copilot Studio, a deterministic workflow or a vibe-coded GitHub app? So when should you choose what? In this session, I will bring real scenarios from customer projects and challenge YOU to decide which architecture fits each one. Where are the limits, and when does combining different approaches make sense? You will see how the right questions expose unsuitable ideas early, keep proofs of concept focused and prevent unnecessary complexity. We will also discuss what a promising prototype needs to become part of daily work instead of dying after the final demonstration. You will leave with a reusable decision framework, practical architecture guidance and proven practices for selecting the right Microsoft AI approach for your next use case.
