Session Abstract

AI is no longer just assisting developers — it is starting to act as a coworker. But not all AI coworkers are built the same way. This session compares two fundamentally different approaches: Microsoft Copilot Cowork, designed for enterprise governance, security and scalability inside the Microsoft 365 ecosystem, and Claude Cowork, which enables far more flexible, hands-on automation across code, browser and user interfaces. After setting the context, the session focuses on real-world development: how Claude Code is used in Power Platform work — Copilot Studio, Power Apps and Power Automate — to automate tasks, interact with interfaces and act as a development coworker, and what that means for how solutions are designed, built and validated. This is not a tool comparison. It is a look at how the role of the developer is changing, and at where the real constraint sits: rarely capability, usually permission.

Note to event organizers

The session content is refreshed whenever the technology moves — with agent tooling that happens every few months, so the January 2027 version will not be the one I am presenting at The AI-Native Workplace Summit 2026. The material comes from my own delivery work rather than from product documentation. I write about Power Platform, Copilot Studio and agent-assisted development at https://www.karlex.fi, with more background at https://www.karlex.fi/introduction-karl-johan-spiik/
