From One Version to 27 Workarounds: What It Really Takes to Stay Compliant in D365 F&O

Microsoft presents D365 F&O as globally compliant through built-in localization packs and regulatory update cycles. But in the real world—especially across the EU—solution architects often find it just a cosmic illusion. That “global readiness” comes with disclaimers, missing fields, partner dependencies, and a constant need to chase down hotfixes and schema changes.
This session breaks down the technical and functional realities of scaling localizations across multiple countries. You’ll learn how to work with Configuration providers, Electronic Reporting (ER), and Azure Services, but more importantly, how to evaluate what’s really usable out of the box versus what still requires tailoring, testing, or third-party augmentation.
While Microsoft does release timely updates (e.g., SAF-T for Norway, JPK for Poland), they often arrive just-in-time or via hotfixes. Even built-in packs require significant configuration effort, and coverage is inconsistent across EU member states. Most teams underestimate the long-term cost of sustaining fragmented, country-specific compliance logic across legal entities.
ISV localization packs are often essential—especially when Microsoft offers no support for a given country. But layering multiple ISV solutions across a global architecture can lead to conflicts, duplicated effort, inconsistent upgrade paths, and maintenance chaos. This session shares a practical blueprint for governance and extensibility that keeps compliance from turning into a technical liability.
