What constitutes a course? (A panel)
Looking at MOC today, the question arises: What are the fundamental elements that turn a loose sequence of keywords into a course called “XY-123”? And is it also obvious to all trainers where they can find those materials that have already been prepared?
\- The agenda
\- A set of slides
\- Training materials for the students
\- Annotated training materials for the trainers
\- Setup instructions
Do all of the above always exist? Does the price of all of the above together define a course? Is XY-123 simply an order number at $LabProvider? Should a course always be assigned to a corresponding certification?
Over the years, MOC has changed significantly. What used to be a high-priced package of 1,000-page plus (printed) training materials, slide sets and associated MCSE certifications has become a kind of disposable Training-To-Go item. Many are wondering how much more the packaging can be reduced before only an empty shell remains. But perhaps some of us simply cannot find the resources that are available.
This panel aims to constructively outline the presence and future of certified Microsoft training. As a first step, we would like to show you where you can typically find the components of a course. Do today's offerings meet our standards for high-quality training?
We would like to invite the MCTs present to actively participate in the discussion.
