The tale of the missing freeze button (about_OBS)

Session Abstract

It's often the little things that make the biggest difference, whether it's hybrid training, e-learning or workshops. Take ZoomIT, for example, which replaces the laser pointer during video conferences. Top of my list of annoying things is the lack of a pause or freeze button. This could be the projector, whose remote control is missing this button for some inexplicable reason. TEAMS doesn't offer one! Yet every trainer knows the moment — you want to leave an example or an exercise on screen while you're already setting up the next step behind the scenes. OBS (Open Broadcaster Software) is a jack-of-all-trades: a tool that, although a little cumbersome to use on first try, offers so many useful features. I will reveal the charm of virtual cameras in OBS, its superb recording features — and yes, the freeze button nobody else will give you. OBS is an an essential part of any trainer’s toolkit. You'll leave with a setup you can use in your very next session.
